Barely 72 hours to the general election, the candidate of Labour Party, LP, for Enugu East Senatorial district, Barrister Oyibo Chukwu, has been shot dead and burnt inside his campaign vehicle.
The Enugu State Police Command is yet to release details surrounding the assassination, however, the late lawyer was contesting the same Senatorial seat with the former governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani.
Nnamani is of the Peoples Democratic Party, while Ada Ogbu is of the All Progressivess Congress contesting for the same Senatorial district.
Meanwhile, supporters of Peter Obi have been fuming with anger and bitterness over the reported death of the candidate few days to the elections.
An unverified video is already trending on social media showing a man burnt inside a campaign vehicle with people around the scene weeping and wailing.
