The Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, (LPPCC) has alleged that thugs believed to be from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have launched brutal attacks on their supporters in Lagos.

Their aim was to stop the Obidients, the supporters of Obi/Datti candidacy from attending the campaign rally holding at Tafawa Balewa Square, (TBS) today in Lagos.

The Chief Spokesperson of the council Dr Yunusa Tanko in a terse message sent yesterday said many people have been injured with windscreen of several vehicles shattered by the hoodlums.

He said, “It’s highly regrettable that Lagos which assumes the most sophisticated city in Africa could witness this type of barbarism in twenty-first century.”

Tanko called on the security agencies and the international community to hold the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the ruling APC government responsible for mayhem that has been unleashed on Obidients on Saturday
The LPPCC Chief Spokesperson further expressed disappointment with the inability of the security agencies to checkmate the excesses of thugs in Lagos despite the fact that the signs of their threats started early when Labour Party flag boys were attacked by the hoodlums last year.

Tanko noted that, the failure of the police to arrest and prosecuted the suspects who attacked the LP flag boys then emboldened the thugs to carry out renewe attacks this time around.”
