The Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) Jigawa state chapter has conferred an award of honour on the immediate past federal permanent Secretary in the ministry of works and housing, Alhaji Babangida Husaini for his outstanding performance in support and friendly disposition to working journalists across the country.
Husaini who holds the title of the Walin of Kazaure emirate in Jigawa state is also the APC Jigawa South-west Senatorial Candidate.
He received the award during a dinner and award night to mark the end of the Jigawa First Female Debate tagged 2022 JFFD, organized by NAWOJ and held at Manpower Development Institute (MDI) in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairperson NAWOJ Jigawa state chapter, Hajiya Hauwa Ibrahim Ladan said, the award was in recognition of his immense “humanitarian activities and support to the good people of Jigawa State”.
According to her, the awards were strictly on merit and given to encourage well meaning individuals, corporate bodies and heads of media houses in the state to do more for the government and people of Jigawa State.
She commended Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar for his support from the onset of the 2022 JFFD and for being the best Media and Gender friendly Governor in Nigeria.
While making his remarks after receiving the award, the Walin Kazaure who was represented by Alhaji Bashir Zubairu Kazaure thanked NAWOJ for finding him worthy for the award.
He said Walin Kazaure is very delighted to be so recognized for such an award and that he determined to do more for the government and good of Jigawa.
According to him, Alhaji Hussaini during his tenure as Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing used his good office to bring over 200 projects to Jigawa State.
He maintained that, Walin Kazaure also secured employment for over 60 youths from Jigawa into the Federal Civil Service, aside personal humanitarian activities to Jigawa people.
