CMD felicitates with Gov Bello over The Graphic Award

The Chief Medical Director, Kogi Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, Prof Isah Yahaya has described The Graphic Newspaper’s New Direction Pathfinder Award given to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaha Bello, as well deserved.

Speaking in a chat with The Graphic in Lokoja, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Yahaya, noted that the award was a confirmation of the governor’s sterling leadership and successes recorded in major fronts.

The Chief Medical Director who rejoiced with the Kogi state governor for being conferred with the New Direction Pathfinder Award said Alhaji Yahaha Bello’s choice by the newspaper could not have come at a better time as now that the administration has initiated many laudable projects in the state.

“Governor Yahaha Bello has so far shown a firm resolve towards the overall repositioning of the fortunes of the state. No were is this more exemplified than in the health sector which has witnessed remarkable achievements across Kogi”.

The present administration’s vigour in the health sector is crucial to enhancing the quality of life of residents. Currently, service delivery in the health sector is being reinvigorated with the provision of infrastructure, equipment, drugs and human capacity building” he added.

While describing investing in people’s health was one of the best legacies any government can bequeath its people, the CMD noted that Goveenor Bello”s healthcare interventions at the State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja will go a long way in promoting healthcare delivery for hundreds of residents of Kogi State.

According to him, the Governor Yahaha Bello led administration has made significant headways in providing critical infrastructure at the health facility by erecting new structures as well as giving existing buildings a facelift.

The upgraded facility when completed he added, would be better equipped to meet the needs of the steady and increasing number of patients who daily throng the hospital to access medical services.

The CMD also assured Governor Bello of the hospital’s continued support in his quest to achieve enhanced health vision in line with global standards for residents.

It would be recalled that Governor Yahaya Bello recently received The Graphic Newspaper’s prestigious New Direction Award as a ceremony to mark the newspaper’s 30th Anniversary and Award Night, which was held in Lokoja.
