Darkness engulfs South East over total system failure – EEDC

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has given a notice of what they described as “General System Collapse” which has resulted in total darkness across the South Eastern states of Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia and Imo 
The Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Emeka Ezeh, in a notice he signed, said that the cause of the total blackout was because of the collapse of all their outgoing feeders in the five states.

Eze also said that they are on standby, and waiting for signal from National Control Centre (NCC) for restoration of supply.

The notice reads: “The Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in the South East of a general system collapse which occurred this morning, Monday, 14th March, 2022 at 10:40 am.

“This is the reason for the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network.

“Consequently, all our outgoing feeders are out and supply to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States are affected by this development.

“We are on standby and awaiting signal from the National Control Centre (NCC) for restoration of supply
