Nigeria’s political, judicial and traditional elite are set to converge in Abuja on April 29 for the public presentation of a landmark legal text authored by renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Emmanuel Ukala.
Among the high-profile dignitaries expected at the event are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Justice of Nigeria Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The book, “Ukala’s Manual on Appellate Practice for Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Nigeria,” will be formally unveiled at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, setting the stage for what insiders describe as one of the most significant legal gatherings of the year.
Sources within the organising committee revealed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will lead a distinguished lineup of guests, further underscoring the event’s national importance.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam Osigwe, is also expected, alongside an array of senior lawyers, jurists, and key figures within Nigeria’s legal establishment.
Also billed to attend are the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, the President of the Court of Appeal, as well as Chief Judges from the Federal High Court and the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
Beyond the legal circle, the event is expected to attract state governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, business leaders, and policy influencers, reflecting the broad relevance of the publication.
Published by Bar and Bench Press Limited, the book is widely regarded as a comprehensive guide to appellate practice, offering critical insights into proceedings at Nigeria’s highest courts.
With elaborate arrangements already in place, the unveiling is poised to be both ceremonial and consequential—celebrating not just a book, but a significant contribution to Nigeria’s legal jurisprudence.
