Governor Eno Inspects Key Infrastructure Projects, Urges Timely Completion

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, today embarked on an unscheduled inspection of several ongoing projects across the state, underscoring his commitment to timely completion and quality execution.

The Governor began his tour at the Aviation Village Project, where he reviewed completed housing units, the access gate, internal road network, and a model primary school. The estate, spanning 15 hectares, includes 100 two- and three-bedroom apartments, a dual carriage access road with internal roads, and perimeter fencing. Governor Eno expressed confidence that the project would be completed on schedule to accommodate aviation agency staff ahead of the commencement of international flight operations at the state airport. He also praised female contractors for their professionalism, directing that more government projects be awarded to them based on their performance.

Next, Governor Eno visited the Equipment Leasing and Maintenance Plant, a major facility aimed at supporting mechanized agriculture. The plant features 20 tractor sheds, administrative buildings, a fully equipped maintenance workshop, 25 tractors with attachable implements, and two low-bed transport vehicles.

The Governor also inspected the site for the CNG Mass Transit Bus Terminal, which will include a CNG gas filling station, training academy, maintenance workshops, restaurants, a police post, and an automated car wash. The project is designed to improve public transportation and provide state-of-the-art support infrastructure for CNG operations.

Despite the rain, Governor Eno continued to the Dakkada Luxury Estate, where construction of the State Assembly Quarters and Executive Council Quarters is ongoing. He reaffirmed his commitment to closely monitor critical infrastructure projects across Akwa Ibom.

Governor Eno’s tour reflects his administration’s focus on infrastructure development, support for local contractors, and efficient project delivery, key pillars of his government’s development agenda.
