Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol, Diesel Prices After Recent Hikes

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its ex-depot prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, as well as Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel, marking the first price drop after a series of increases recorded in recent days.
According to the refinery’s latest pricing template released on March 10, 2026, the gantry price of petrol has been reduced by ₦100, bringing it down to ₦1,075 per litre from the previous ₦1,175 per litre.
The company also disclosed that PMS supplied through coastal distribution channels will now sell at ₦1,050 per litre, reflecting a slightly lower rate for marine deliveries.
Diesel prices also witnessed a significant adjustment. The gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil has been cut by ₦190, dropping to ₦1,430 per litre from the earlier price of ₦1,620 per litre.
The refinery noted that the listed gantry prices do not include statutory charges imposed by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Industry watchers say the price reduction follows a recent dip in global crude oil prices, which has started to ease cost pressures in international petroleum markets and influence pricing within Nigeria’s downstream sector.
Analysts believe the adjustment could provide short-term relief for marketers and bulk buyers who have been contending with rising loading costs at depots in recent weeks.
Market participants are now monitoring how quickly the revised ex-depot prices will filter through the distribution chain and eventually reflect in lower pump prices at filling stations across the country.
