Uzoka-Anite Calls for Renewed Patriotism to Power Nigeria’s Inclusive Growth

***Says Azikiwe’s Ideals Offer Blueprint for National Renewal

Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, has called on Nigerians to rekindle the spirit of patriotism, education, and public service as the driving force for inclusive growth and national renewal.

She made the call on Friday in Abuja while receiving the delegation of the 6th Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Annual Memorial Lecture and Award Committee, led by former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite said the ideals championed by Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, remain a moral compass for leadership and development.

“Dr. Azikiwe’s timeless ideals of patriotism, education, and public service remind us that nation-building is not a government project but a collective mission. Our duty as leaders is to translate those ideals into inclusive growth and opportunities for all Nigerians,” she said.

The Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, to strengthen fiscal responsibility, deepen financial inclusion, and create sustainable prosperity that uplifts every Nigerian.
“Recognitions like this inspire us to serve even more diligently. We will continue to align sound fiscal management with policies that empower citizens and build a stronger, more united nation,” she added.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite thanked President Tinubu, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, and Zenith Bank Chairman Jim Ovia for their leadership and partnership in advancing national goals. She also commended the committee for sustaining the legacy of Dr. Azikiwe through civic engagement and intellectual dialogue.
In his remarks, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu said Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s nomination for the Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Leadership Award was “unanimous and well-deserved,” citing her integrity, fiscal reforms, and contributions to Nigeria’s economic stability.

He stressed that the nation must remain united in vision and purpose to achieve sustainable development, adding that the 6th Annual Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Memorial Lecture and Award will hold in November 2025 to honour Nigerians who embody Zik’s values.

The visit reaffirmed shared commitment to value-driven leadership, civic participation, and a renewed national spirit anchored on patriotism and service.
