In Jigawa North West, Senator Babangida Hussaini is redefining grassroots politics — not only by empowering his party faithful but also by restoring the cultural pride of his people.
At a rally in Kazaure town, the lawmaker, who also holds the traditional title of Walin Kazaure, distributed 127 motorcycles to All Progressives Congress (APC) ward executives across 12 local government areas. The gesture, witnessed by Governor Umar Namadi and APC leaders, was pitched as a boost to party coordination and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This is about strengthening our structures at the grassroots,” Senator Hussaini declared. “Together, we are building a stronger, united, and progressive Jigawa North West — and Nigeria at large.”
Governor Namadi praised the initiative as people-focused, noting that the motorcycles would ease mobility and deepen the party’s reach in rural communities.
Yet the day was not just about politics. Senator Hussaini also commissioned the reconstructed Dambo Palace, the historic seat of the Emir of Kazaure, a personal project he began in 2019. The redesigned royal residence now features modern living quarters, apartments, and a council chamber befitting the emirate’s stature.
The Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu, hailed the senator’s effort as “a rare gesture that safeguards our heritage while preparing us for the future.”
For Hussaini, the twin acts — empowering APC ward chairmen and restoring the emir’s palace capture a larger vision: marrying the demands of modern politics with the preservation of tradition, ensuring both party dominance and cultural continuity in Kazaure.
