***Breaks Kidnap Informant Network
By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja
The Kogi State Government has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the security and safety of its citizens, vowing to intensify its fight against all forms of criminality across the state.

This assurance was given by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday in Lokoja.
Fanwo disclosed that the state has recorded a major breakthrough in its security operations, particularly in the fight against kidnapping, with the arrest of suspected informants aiding criminal networks in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
According to the Commissioner, Babatunde Aledare, a suspected informant who was earlier apprehended in Ayetoro-Kiri, has made key confessional statements that led to the arrest of two more accomplices—Dare Okegbe and Lakutu Omobab Ajelesimi.
“Both suspects are also from Ayetoro-Kiri and have confessed to working closely with kidnappers by setting up members of their own community for abduction,” Fanwo revealed.
He described the arrests as a significant step forward in the government’s ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping cells, especially in Okunland.
“This development marks another important breakthrough in our relentless war against insecurity. More arrests may follow as investigations continue,” Fanwo added.
The commissioner praised the efforts of security agencies and local intelligence networks that made the arrests possible, assuring residents that the state government will leave no stone unturned in restoring peace and safety across all communities.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, reaffirming the government’s resolve to protect the lives and property of all Kogi citizens.
