In a compassionate gesture, representing Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, Senator Babangida Hussaini, has extended support to 42 widows who lost their husbands in a tragic petroleum explosion in Majiya village.
The senator provided each widow with a wrapper and N10,000 to cover tailoring costs for sewing the fabric.
The event which held in Majiya village of Taura Local Government Area, is aimed to ease the burdens of the grieving women, who are currently observing the mandatory four-month and ten-day Islamic mourning period (Iddah).
Eng. Jazuli Aminu Ahmed, who represented Senator Hussaini, conveyed the senator’s deep condolences and commitment to standing with the widows in their time of loss. “The distinguished senator wanted to be here personally, but due to pressing constituency matters, he has sent this delegation to extend his heartfelt support, present the relief items, and offer prayers for your late husbands,” Ahmed stated.
He further emphasized that the assistance was meant to bring comfort to the widows and help them prepare for the upcoming Sallah festival after their mourning period.
One of the beneficiaries, Malama Marka Yusufu, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the senator’s unwavering support. “The Wali of Kazaure has been with us since the tragedy. He donated millions of Naira right after the incident, later sent food supplies, and now he has returned with additional aid. We are deeply grateful,” she said.
The senator’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of his constituents, particularly in times of distress, has been widely acknowledged as a testament to his dedication to service.
