    Shehu Sani, Idah LGA Chairman Unite to Chart New Course for Development

    In a move to foster grassroots development and tackle socio-economic challenges, the Executive Chairman of Idah Local Government Council, Hon. Alhaji Alfa Halilu, held a strategic meeting with former Senator and human rights advocate, Distinguished Senator Shehu Sani, in Idah, Kogi State.

    Information, Communication, and Strategy to the chairman, Comr. Bala Musa Eleojo indicated that the high-profile dialogue centered on governance reforms, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth in the region. Senator Sani, widely known for his outspoken views on national issues, emphasized the need for proactive leadership to address Nigeria’s deep-rooted challenges, which he described as man-made.

    Hon. Halilu, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the visit, describing Senator Sani as a national figure whose insights could inspire meaningful transformations in Idah and beyond.
    He called for ongoing collaboration and knowledge-sharing to improve governance, security, and local economic empowerment.
    The Chairman acknowledged the importance of partnerships with experienced leaders like Senator Sani, stressing that grassroots progress requires visionary leadership backed by actionable policies.

    “The meeting marks a significant step towards aligning local governance with national development strategies. We are committed to translating ideas into impactful results for our people,” Hon. Halilu said.
    Senator Sani commended the efforts of the council in addressing pressing community needs and urged leaders to intensify efforts in poverty alleviation, education, and infrastructure.

    “Our focus must be on providing sustainable solutions to our challenges. Development begins at the grassroots, and effective governance is key,” Sani noted.
    The meeting was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Hon. Haruna Idoko Musa, former Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Legislative Matters, and Mr. Sylvester Ojogbane, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, highlighting the council’s unified approach to driving growth.
    The engagement concluded with a renewed commitment to prioritize the welfare of the people, with plans to initiate collaborative programs that address security, education, and economic development.
