Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has taken legal action against top officials in the state, including the Inspector General of Police, Marvelous Omobayo, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Aigbebaku, and the Chief Judge of the State, for alleged disobedience of a court order.

Shaibu filed a Form 48 contempt of court order at the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, on August 16, 2024, against the following defendants:

    1. Inspector General of Police
    2. Speaker of the State House of Assembly
    3. Attorney General of the state
    4. Chief Judge of the State
    5. The Edo State House of Assembly

The suit, numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/478/2024, seeks to hold the defendants accountable for allegedly disregarding a court order related to Shaibu’s reinstatement as Deputy Governor.

The Form 48 notice warns of consequences for disobedience of the court order, indicating that Shaibu is determined to assert his rights and ensure compliance with the legal directive.
