The senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has condemned in strong terms the recent attack on the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in which several students were abducted by gunmen.

She equally called for an improved security, describing the attack as “unfortunate and unacceptable,” that innocent students must not be subjected to such heinous act.
Heavily armed bandits in their numbers had invaded Kogi-owned Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, and abducted unspecified number of students.
The invasion took place on Thursday night while the students were having tutorials in preparation for their upcoming first semester examinations.
According to information released by the university, the attack occurred at approximately 8:23 pm on Thursday, May 9th, when hoodlums attacked the university, located in Adavi local government area of Kogi, and abducted an unspecified number of students who were studying for their first-semester examinations.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan while reacting stressed that learning environments must be protected from such attacks and urged security agencies to ensure the safe release of the students and bring the perpetrators to justice.

She offered her support and assistance to ensure the students’ safely return as she emphasised the need for measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
