Tension grips Okere community after shoot out, two feared dead

There is apprehension in Okere community, Warri South local government area, after a short out by stern looking soldiers.
It was gathered that youths in the community community had resisted a traditional ceremony billed to be performed by Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
Multiple sources disclosed that two persons simply identified as Macaulay Uku and Daniel Grey have been reportedly shot.
It was further gathered that the two persons were injured in the shooting which occurred Saturday at Okere.
“Some youths had resisted the monarch from entry into the community to perform the rite prompting the deployment of soldiers to the area.
“Their main grouse was that the monarch was planning to pour anointing oil on the shrine, as against the established customary rites that the people were used to.”
