    Ombugadu splahes N198million to enrol 13,000 indigents on NHIS in Nasarawa

    The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the 2023 Governorship election in Nasarawa State Dr. David Ombugadu has issued a cheque of N198million to enrol 13,000 indigenes on the National Health Insurance Scheme in the state.

    Dr Ombugadu handed the cheque to the scheme yesterday during his ‘home coming and thanks giving service’ that drew mammoth crowd to his resident at Akwanga.

    Ombugadu while addressing his supporters said that he is emotionally attached to the people of Nasarawa state right from his days in the University of Jos as a student.

    “Whether I am in government or not I have programs for the health, education, women and youths empowerment through my Community Development Initiative. I am determined to sustain this for my people in the state irrespective of tribe, religion and political affiliations.

    “One thousand indigenes each from the 13 local governments in the state will benefit from my health insurance program targeted at providing affordable healthcare services to the less privileged in the state.

    “The health of our people is essential and dear to my heart because a healthy person produce a healthy state and nation. It is on this note I am issuing the cheque of N198 million for thirteen thousand enrollee in the state with the NHIS.

    He thanked all his supporters who voted him massively at the last year governorship elections that gave him victory that was upheld by the tribunal and later nullified by the supreme court.

    Dr. Ombugadu commended the women for justice who stood firm inspite of all intimidation by the military, police and the state government that detained some of them in prison for over two weeks while demanding for justice in the electoral fraud that took place in the two wards of Gayam and Chiroma in Lafia local government.

    He urged his supporters to remained focus, insisting that God’s plan for him remains unshakeable.

    The two times member of the house of representative urged his colleagues at the National Assembly to prioritize the healthcare of their constituents by at least enrolling1000 beneficiaries
