The New Nigerian Peoples Party’s (NNPP) governorship candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf has been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the Kano governorship election.
Abba, scored a total of 1, 019, 602 votes, defeating the incumbent deputy governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Party who scored 890, 705 votes, followed by Muhammad Sani Abacha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 15, 957 votes.
INEC declared Abba as winner at 7:07 am on Monday morning, almost 17 hours after the collation exercise commenced.
