Nasarawa South Senator-elect and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded election Mohammed Onawo has dedicated his victory to God and the people of his sensational district.

Onawo stated this on Wednesday in Doma Local Government Area (LGA) when he played host to the officials and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

According to the Senator-elect, his victory was by the grace of God and the reward by his people on the quality representation he offered to them for 16 years.

“I have served my people for eight years in the House of Assembly and eight years in the House of Representatives and if I did not do well they would not have voted for me again.

“I have impacted on the lives of my people in the areas of education, health, youths and women empowerment, provision of boreholes and facilitated empowerment for many qualified youths with federal and state governments.

“So, I thank God for giving me another opportunity and I promised not to disappoint him and my people” Onawo added.

The Senator-elect also promised to partner with journalists in the state for the overall development of the state and the country.

He reiterated that the press should report his activities objectively and professionally.

Onawo also promised to sponsor quality bills that would help the incoming administration to address the security and economic challenges confronting the country.

He also promised to lobby and attract more federal government presence to Nasarawa State.

Earlier, Hajiya Amina Mohammed of Voice of Nigeria (VON) and Vice Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel congratulated the Senator-elect on his victory and promised to give him adequate coverage
