    Naira notes: CBN bows, extend deadline to February 10th

    After so much pressure from Nigerians the Central Bank of Nigeria has at last extended the deadline for the exchange of old naira notes by 10 days.

    In a press statement issued on Sunday, Godwin Emefiele, the CBN governor, said the new deadline is February 10, 2023.

    Emefiele says it has Buhari’s permission to effect the extension, adding that so far, CBN has collected 1.9 trillion and left with 900billion to achieve effective implementation of policy.
