Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders to reconcile aggrieved members and close ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Zulum made the appeal on Sunday in Maiduguri during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council, which he chairs.
He called on party leaders, women and youths to intensify grassroots mobilisation through door-to-door and house-to-house campaigns to secure victory for APC candidates.

The governor said electoral success would depend on unity, discipline and effective mobilisation at local government, ward and polling unit levels.
He urged members to put aside personal interests and political differences arising from the party’s primary elections.
Zulum also appealed to anyone he might have offended in the course of his leadership to forgive him.
He urged those who lost in the primaries to support the party’s candidates, stressing that women, youths, elders and aggrieved stakeholders must be carried along.
The governor further appealed to Borno residents to reciprocate the support given to the state through the emergence of Vice-President Kashim Shettima by voting for APC candidates.
“All eyes are on Borno; the North is watching, and the President is also watching. We must come out en masse to vote for APC,” he said.
Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Borno, Bello Ayuba, called for unity and commitment among party members.
He urged stakeholders to strengthen the party’s internal structures and sustain grassroots mobilisation.
The party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Bukar Dalori, challenged members to mobilise voters in their respective polling units, insisting that the APC could not afford to lose Borno State.
Similarly, former Governor Maina Maaji-Lawan, who chairs the Campaign Council’s Advisory Committee, urged members to reconcile with aggrieved party stakeholders and supporters of other political parties.
He warned that members would be assessed based on their ability to deliver votes from their respective polling units.
According to him, recognition after the elections would depend on measurable contributions to the party’s performance.
Hon. Mukhtar Betra, who represents Biu, Bayo and Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency, also urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work together for the APC’s success.
