The Association of Online Media Practitioners and Professionals of Nigeria, APPMEN, is set to address the challenge of unpaid earnings faced by Nigerian content creators on global digital platforms.
The association will hold its 2026 Aso APPMEN/Content Creators Conference on Thursday, September 24, in Abuja.
The conference has the theme, “Voice, Vision, Purpose.”
It will focus on practical ways creators can recover money owed to them by major global platforms.
The organisers said some creators lose earnings because of policy issues, documentation errors and lack of proper support.
APPMEN National Coordinator, Chief Precious Enebuse, said Nigerian creators generate billions of views and significant value for global platforms.
He said the conference would provide creators with useful information, contacts and practical steps to recover outstanding payments.
The event will also feature the investiture of APPMEN’s Council of Patrons.
Former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, will serve as Chairman of the Council.
The Odyong Nyankpa II, HRH Barr. Joel Sabo Aninge, is the Grand Patron, while the Emir of Katagum, HRH Alhaji Baba Umar Faruq II, is the National Patron.
APPMEN will also unveil 25 “The Nigeria We Want Ambassadors.”
The association said the ambassadors were selected for their integrity, leadership and service to the country.
Dr Otive Igbuzor will chair the National Advisory Council.
The conference will bring together content creators, skit makers, comedians, influencers, journalists, bloggers, media owners and other digital entrepreneurs.
It will hold at the AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju Hall, VCN, beside the TETFUND headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 9am.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; NCC Executive Vice Chairman, Dr Aminu Maida; and PANDEF National Chairman, Amb. Dr Godknows Boladei Igali, are among the expected guests.
