The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency, Aminu Wada Abubakar, has identified roads, water supply, healthcare, education, agricultural infrastructure and youth development as priority areas for federal intervention if elected.
Abubakar unveiled the agenda while meeting PDP stakeholders from the 22 wards that make up the constituency.
He said his legislative representation would focus on attracting federal projects with direct economic and social benefits to constituents.
Among the projects he identified as priorities are the rehabilitation and construction of key rural and inter-community roads to improve movement of people and agricultural produce.
Abubakar also pledged to pursue federal intervention in potable water supply, including the provision and rehabilitation of boreholes and small-scale water schemes in communities facing water shortages.
In healthcare, he said he would advocate the upgrading of primary healthcare facilities, provision of essential medical equipment and improved access to basic healthcare services.
The PDP candidate said education would also receive attention, with a focus on renovating public schools, providing learning facilities and supporting skills-development centres for youths.
He further identified agricultural processing and storage facilities as priorities, saying such projects could help farmers reduce post-harvest losses, create local employment and increase the value of agricultural produce.
Abubakar also pledged to pursue youth-focused federal empowerment programmes, including vocational training, entrepreneurship support and access to starter equipment for beneficiaries.
He said he would use bills, motions, committee engagements and direct advocacy with Federal Government ministries, departments and agencies to pursue the projects.
According to him, effective representation should translate constituents’ needs into concrete federal interventions rather than end with legislative debates.
He said his objective would be to build a constituency development agenda that combines infrastructure, human capital development and economic empowerment.
The PDP Zonal Chairman, Abdulaziz Dankofa, assured Abubakar of the commitment of party members across the 22 wards to work for the party’s victory.
Other party leaders urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and canvass for votes across the constituency.
They described Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency as a PDP stronghold and expressed confidence that the party would reclaim and retain the seat.
