Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has been honoured in London for his contributions to public service and humanitarian development.
Tunji-Ojo received the Nigeria Universal Keystone Sport Awards (NUKSA) Humanitarian Contribution Award (Service to Nigeria) at a ceremony held at the prestigious Ham Polo Club in Richmond, London.
The recognition brought together an array of Nigerian and British dignitaries, business leaders, sports personalities and members of the Nigerian diaspora to celebrate individuals making notable contributions to Nigeria.
The award was presented by Henry Ojo, Chief Executive Officer of The Rehab Borough, who said the honour was in recognition of Tunji-Ojo’s service to Nigeria and efforts directed at improving the welfare of citizens.
Although the minister was unable to attend the ceremony, Gabriel Olu Omoogun, NUKSA Media Director, received the award on his behalf.
The event opened with a polo match before moving into an evening of recognition for Nigerians whose work spans public service, humanitarian intervention, sports and national development.
Also in attendance was the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq, who delivered the keynote address.
NUKSA described the Humanitarian Contribution Award as a recognition of individuals whose dedication to public service and humanitarian causes reflects leadership, compassion and commitment to national development.
