The Kogi APC Disability Campaign Network has launched a campaign team to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the 2027 elections. This initiative was unveiled during an event in Lokoja on Wednesday.
Director-General of the network, Hon. Yakubu Abdulhakeem Nazir stated that the campaign aims to encourage participation from persons with disabilities (PWDs) across Kogi State. He emphasized the importance of uniting families and friends to support their re-election.

Nazir explained that the focus has shifted from just political inclusion to active political participation. He urged members to engage in campaign activities and help spread messages of unity and progress in all local government areas.

He highlighted the significant voting power of PWDs in Kogi, noting that over 100,000 PWD voters are expected to support the APC. Nazir expressed gratitude for past APC efforts to include PWDs in governance, such as the enactment of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Act in 2018.

The campaign network also planned to create a database of PWDs in all local government areas in Kogi to enhance government programs for the community. The event concluded with the presentation of appointment letters to new members and positive remarks from local PWD leaders.

This initiative represents a crucial step in promoting political engagement among persons with disabilities in Kogi State, signifying their commitment to support the Tinubu and Ododo administrations.
