Northern Senators Forum has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing his political journey as a testament to resilience, intellect and commitment to public service.

In a birthday message signed by its Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the forum congratulated Shettima on his Diamond Jubilee anniversary on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The senators highlighted Shettima’s progression from Commissioner in Borno State to two-term governor, senator and Vice President of Nigeria.

They described the Vice President as one of the prominent leaders of his generation whose career remains an inspiration to young Nigerians.

The forum also praised Shettima for what it described as his bridge-building role and voice of reason during his time in the Senate.

According to the senators, Shettima has continued to demonstrate competence, conviction and compassion as Vice President while representing the administration with clarity.

The Northern Senators Forum said Shettima occupies an important position as the leading representative of Northern Nigeria in the present administration.

It expressed confidence that his understanding of the region’s challenges and commitment to dialogue would help promote development and strengthen national integration.

The forum also commended his ability to balance loyalty to President Bola Tinubu with his responsibility to represent the interests and aspirations of people in the North.

The senators prayed for Shettima to receive greater wisdom, strength and good health as he continues his service to Nigeria.

They said his experience and goodwill would remain valuable to the country in the years ahead.

“Happy 60th Birthday, Your Excellency,” the forum said.
