The National Organising Secretary of the Labour Party, Oluchi Oparah, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to fathers across Nigeria and around the world in commemoration of Father’s Day.
In a goodwill message released on Sunday, Oparah described fathers as “pillars of strength, protectors, providers, mentors, and silent builders of society,” noting that their sacrifices often go unnoticed but remain the foundation upon which stable families and communities are built.
She paid special tribute to Nigerian fathers, commending their resilience in the face of economic and social challenges, and their unwavering commitment to the welfare and upbringing of their families.
According to her, fatherhood is defined not by wealth or status, but by sacrifice, character, and the values imparted to children. She emphasized that many fathers endure hardship in silence while ensuring that their families do not lack love, guidance, and support.
Oparah further encouraged fathers not to lose hope despite prevailing difficulties in the country, assuring them that their sacrifices will yield lasting rewards. She also urged families and society to show greater appreciation and support for fathers who continue to shoulder heavy responsibilities under difficult conditions.
She concluded her message by praying for divine strength, peace, and prosperity for fathers, while also remembering those who have passed on.
“Happy Father’s Day to all fathers who continue to make a difference through their sacrifice and love,” she stated.
