***Dedicates Honour to FCT Residents
The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, has expressed deep appreciation after emerging as the Minister of State of the Year at the 6th Edition of the Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards held in Abuja.
Special adviser on Media Austine Elemue in a statement indicated tha the ceremony took place at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, specifically at the Congress Hall, where the event brought together policymakers, public servants, and stakeholders to celebrate excellence in governance and service delivery.
Speaking after receiving the honour as Guest of Honour, Mahmoud described the recognition as a reflection of the collective effort within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)), working under the leadership of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.
She noted that the award would further strengthen her commitment to advancing development initiatives across the FCT in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that leadership, in her view, is anchored on service, compassion, and creating opportunities that positively impact citizens.
Mahmoud dedicated the award to residents of the FCT, especially women, youths, and community leaders, describing them as key partners in governance whose resilience continues to inspire ongoing reforms and projects.
She also commended the organisers of the Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards for sustaining a platform that promotes excellence, accountability, and innovation in public service, stressing that such recognition helps reinforce a culture of performance and national development.
The Minister further urged Nigerians to remain united and committed to peace and nation-building as the country looks ahead to the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism that continued collaboration between government and citizens would strengthen Abuja’s growth and Nigeria’s development trajectory.
