A political support group, Grassroots Mobilization for Asiwaju and Danmodi/Roller (GMA/DR 2023), has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi for second terms in office, while throwing its weight behind Ambassador Halima Suleiman Zakari for the Jigawa Central Senatorial seat.
At a press briefing addressed by National Coordinator Grassroots Mobilization for Asiwaju and Danmodi/Roller (GMA/DR 2023), Comrade Aminu Aminu on Wednesday, said its endorsement was based on what it described as “visionary leadership, commitment, and impactful governance” at both the federal and state levels.
The group commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that ongoing economic and institutional reforms demonstrate “courage, foresight, and determination” to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth.
“As a grassroots-driven organisation, we recognise these efforts and reaffirm our full support for his leadership,” the group stated.
At the state level, GMA/DR 2023 praised Governor Namadi’s performance, citing achievements in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, as well as his commitment to inclusive governance.
It said the governor’s policies have significantly improved living standards across Jigawa State, justifying its call for continuity in office.
The group also announced its endorsement of Ambassador Zakari for the Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone, describing her as a “compassionate and visionary leader” with a strong record in humanitarian services, education support, and grassroots empowerment.
According to the group, her candidacy represents a shift toward more responsive and people-focused representation.
It added that it was prepared to demonstrate its support by mobilising resources to purchase her nomination form once she secures the party ticket.
The group called on party members, community leaders, youth groups, and women across Jigawa State to rally behind the endorsed candidates, stressing the importance of collective participation in strengthening democracy.
It reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful grassroots mobilisation, unity, and inclusive governance.
