Fayose Alleges Political Plot Against Olubadan, Links Tension to Makinde Impeachment Claim

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that a political plot is underway in Oyo State aimed at removing the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
Fayose claimed that the purported move is being driven by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and could begin with official queries reportedly tied to the monarch’s absence from a recent coronation ceremony involving high chiefs in Ibadan.
He further alleged that tensions between the state government and the traditional institution have escalated to the point where the monarch is being accused of political interference, including an alleged plot to impeach the governor—claims which have not been independently verified.
According to Fayose, the situation reflects a deepening political and traditional leadership rift in Oyo State, warning that unfolding developments should be closely watched.
The allegations add to ongoing speculation about strained relations between the state government and the Ibadan traditional council, though no formal confirmation of any dethronement process has been made public by authorities.
As of the time of reporting, neither the Oyo State Government nor the Olubadan-in-Council has issued an official response to the claims.
