Police Seek Relatives of Spanish Teen Found in Kano

The Police Command in Kano State has appealed to the public for assistance in reuniting a 16-year-old boy, Alex Ansol, with his family after he was found wandering in a rural community.
The teenager was discovered in Dadin Kowa village in Doguwa Local Government Area after reportedly losing contact with his relatives while travelling to the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the boy arrived in Nigeria from Spain on March 30, 2026, through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja alongside four relatives.
Police said he became separated from them during the journey to Kano.
“The boy was on his way to Kano to visit his father when he got separated from his relatives along the Jos–Saminaka road,” the statement said.
Authorities described the teenager as thin, dark-complexioned, and able to speak English, noting that he has no tribal marks.
He reportedly provided an address linked to Spain.
“He gave his address as ‘Barsa Rub, Opposite 46 Stadium, Spain,’” the police added.
The command said efforts are ongoing to trace his relatives and ensure his safe return.
“We are appealing to members of the public to provide any useful information that can help reunite the boy with his family,” Kiyawa said.
Police urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Kano State Police Command or the Divisional Police Officer in Doguwa
