A sea of supporters flooded the streets of Kano on Saturday as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made a dramatic return following high-level engagements with leaders of the All Progressives Congress.
From the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the city centre and Government House, jubilant crowds waved flags, sang solidarity songs, and cheered the governor in a charged atmosphere that reflected both excitement and political significance.
The reception comes at a time of intense political reshuffling in the state. Yusuf’s recent alignment with the APC has stirred conversations across party lines, especially as he was part of a delegation that visited Bala Mohammed—a move widely seen as part of broader efforts to redraw political loyalties ahead of 2027.
