2027: Group Rallies Youth Support for Tinubu, Targets 50 Million Signatures

A pro-Tinubu civil society platform, Signature Nigeria 2027, has intensified its advocacy ahead of the next general election, declaring Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most viable candidate to lead the country beyond 2027.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the group’s Director General, Mayor Enujioku, said the President’s record over the past three years reflects a pattern of bold decision-making that distinguishes him from other political actors already positioning for power.
According to him, Tinubu’s leadership has been defined by a willingness to confront entrenched economic challenges head-on—particularly reforms that previous administrations hesitated to implement. He argued that such decisions, though difficult in the short term, are laying the foundation for long-term stability and growth.
Central to the group’s argument is the removal of fuel subsidy, which it described as a turning point in Nigeria’s fiscal direction. Signature Nigeria 2027 maintains that the policy has unlocked resources for development while forcing a reset in how public funds are managed. The group also cited improvements in local refining capacity, pointing to the growing impact of the Dangote Refinery in stabilising fuel supply.
Beyond economic reforms, the group highlighted ongoing conversations around state policing and resource control, describing them as critical steps toward addressing insecurity and deepening federalism. It insisted that only a leader with political weight and experience like Tinubu can successfully drive such structural changes.
Enujioku urged Nigerian youths to remain focused and resist what he called “political distractions,” stressing that continuity in leadership would allow current reforms to mature rather than be disrupted by a transition.
As part of its mobilisation drive, the group unveiled an ambitious plan to gather between 50 million and 100 million signatures from young Nigerians in support of the President’s re-election. The campaign, it said, will involve grassroots engagement, sensitisation programmes, and digital outreach aimed at building a broad coalition of youth support nationwide.
Drawing on his experience as a former leader of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Enujioku said the initiative is designed not just as a political statement, but as a movement to align young Nigerians with what the group describes as a “continuity agenda.”
For Signature Nigeria 2027, the message is clear: the coming election is not just about choosing a leader, but deciding whether to sustain a reform process already underway.
