    Kogi Speaker declares for Reps, pledges quality representation

    Incumbent Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has declared his intension to run for the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency seat in the upcoming 2023 General Elections.

    Kolawole a stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed his intension during the Official Declaration and Annual Widows Empowerment Programme in Kabba, Kogi West Senatorial District.

    He said that the need for quality representation informed his decision to join the race adding that he had to throw his hat into the ring to enable him bring his experience to bear in the service of his constituents at higher level.

    He averred that he had garnered a lot of experience over the years as a two-term legislator saying, “I have been in the House of Assembly for a couple of terms now.

    “And it is my intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat to represent the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Constituency under APC come 2023.”

    Kolawole said he had spent the last seven years providing skills acquisition for his constituents with several Empowerment Initiatives.

    He stressed that If given the mandate to represent the Federal Constituency, he would use the position to do more and advance his efforts to affect lives of the down trodden.

    “While in the State House of Assembly, I have used my office to facilitate employment, we have facilitated projects to the Constituency, provided boreholes, youth Empowerment, rural electrification, skill acquisition and so on”, he said.

    The Speaker commend the 30 Ward Executives of the APC in the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and urged them to continue to support the party for its overall success in the area come 2023.

    On the Widows Empowerment Programme, he revealed that it was organised to immortalise his Late mother as well as his wife, Pastor Esther Kolawole who died in December, 2021.

    Kolawole used the occasion to call the national leadership of the APC and all delegates to rally round Governor Yahaya Bello for him to realise his presidential ambition.

    He said that Bello possessed the requisite knowledge and all it would to take to manage the complex diversity of the country, pointing out that his experience in Kogi state would help him to reposition the country for the betterment of all.

    Notable grassroots politicians in the area as well as beneficiaries of of the Speaker’s Annual Widows’ Empowerment Programme commended Kolawole for his continual gestures and pledged their continued support for his aspiration. (Ends)
