Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has congratulated former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as a principled leader and an unwavering champion of the masses.
In a congratulatory message, Lamido commended Tambuwal’s decades of service to Nigeria’s democratic development, highlighting his humility, integrity, and deep commitment to public service.
Recalling Tambuwal’s political journey, Lamido noted his rise from a brief legal practice to serving as a legislative aide, his election into the House of Representatives, and his eventual emergence as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He further described Tambuwal’s tenure as Governor of Sokoto State as a defining phase of purposeful leadership.
The former Jigawa governor, a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also referenced Tambuwal’s leadership roles as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Deputy Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, describing them as clear reflections of the confidence and respect he commands among his peers.
According to Lamido, Tambuwal distinguishes himself among Nigerian politicians through his respect for elders, calm disposition, accessibility, and consistent presence at community gatherings during moments of joy and grief alike. He said the senator’s ability to relate effortlessly with people across all social and economic divides has earned him nationwide admiration.
“From the beginning of his political career to this day, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has upheld clean public conduct, dignified speech, and respect for humanity. He is a leader blessed with wisdom, intellect, eloquence, and a clear sense of purpose in governance,” Lamido stated.
Lamido prayed for good health, long life, and greater accomplishments for the Sokoto-born politician, expressing confidence that his future contributions to national development would surpass his past achievements.
He concluded by wishing the former Speaker a joyous 60th birthday celebration and sustained relevance in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
