Imane Chiefdom Confers Peace Ambassador Title on Veteran Journalist Ben Adaji

The Imane Chiefdom in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State has honoured veteran journalist Hon. Ben Adaji with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Abujah Oda Ojiji Imane” (Peace Ambassador) in recognition of his professional excellence, humility, philanthropy, and uncommon courage.
The title was conferred by the Oda Ojiji of Imane (First Class), HRH Ibrahim Callistus Salifu, during a colourful coronation ceremony held at the royal palace in Imane. The monarch said the Traditional Council deemed it fit to bestow the honour on Adaji as a way of celebrating his outstanding contributions and inspiring others to emulate his virtues.
Coronation rites began on the night of December 5 and culminated in a turbaning ceremony witnessed by dignitaries from within and outside Kogi State.
Congratulating the newly installed title holder, HRH Ibrahim Callistus Salifu charged him to discharge his responsibilities as Peace Ambassador with the dedication and sense of responsibility he is known for, particularly in reconciling aggrieved parties across the Imane Chiefdom.
Hon. Ben Adaji, a journalist of several decades’ experience, currently serves as the Taraba State Correspondent of Aljazerah Newspaper. He also contested the House of Representatives seat for Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala Federal Constituency in the 2019 and 2023 general elections.
In his acceptance remarks, Adaji expressed deep appreciation to the Oda Ojiji and the entire Traditional Council for finding him worthy of the honour, pledging to abide strictly by the rules guiding the title.
He promised to deploy his experience, knowledge, and understanding of the Imane District to promote reconciliation, peace, and harmonious coexistence within the community.
A reception was later held in his honour at his residence in Aboh Ojikpadala, where guests described the coronation as a well-deserved recognition of service and character.
