**Urges Greater Support for Vulnerable Children
A non-governmental organisation, Cabul Network Community Development Initiative, has urged philanthropists and corporate bodies to intensify support for less privileged children across the country, especially those in underserved communities.
The Chairman of the group, Mr. Okechukwu Okorie, made the call during an outreach to Waru LEA Primary School in the Federal Capital Territory, where the organisation donated school uniforms, exercise books, and other writing materials to pupils.
Mr. Okorie said the gesture underscores Cabul Network’s commitment to community empowerment and improving access to education for vulnerable children at a time of growing economic pressures.
He stressed that sustainable educational development starts at the grassroots, adding that more Nigerians must show commitment to lifting struggling families and keeping children in school.
The Head Teacher, Mr. Dikko Sol, expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as a much-needed boost to the school’s resources. The Assistant Head Teacher, Mr. Adasa Reuben, hailed the donation as timely, noting that many pupils depend on such support to remain in class.
Both school officials encouraged other NGOs and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture, saying such partnerships are essential to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
One of the beneficiaries, Loyalty Taye, a pupil of Waru LEA Primary School, was visibly excited as he thanked Cabul Network for the items received.
The distribution exercise was held within the school premises in Waru, a community located about ten kilometres from the Abuja city centre.
