The Federal Government has launched the Government–Private Sector (GPS) Dialogue Series: Finance and SME Growth Roundtable in Lagos as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda to deepen collaboration between policymakers and business leaders for sustainable economic growth.
Held on Saturday at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, the inaugural session brought together key stakeholders to discuss priority issues, remove investment barriers, and develop practical strategies to improve access to finance and boost enterprise development.
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, reaffirmed the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment where Nigerians can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national growth.
In her welcome remarks, the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, described the Dialogue Series as “a simple but profound platform that brings together Federal and State officials, private sector leaders, and community representatives to identify bottlenecks and agree on actionable steps to unlock growth.”
She emphasized that under President Tinubu’s leadership, the Federal Government is building “an economy where enterprise thrives, and entrepreneurs can grow their businesses with ease.”
Dr. Uzoka-Anite commended President Tinubu’s vision, noting that his economic reforms—including foreign exchange unification, fuel subsidy removal, and fiscal discipline—“have sent a clear message to investors at home and abroad that Nigeria is open for serious business once again.”
She also praised Mr. Wale Edun for his “stellar leadership and tireless efforts in driving the President’s economic agenda” and extended appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting Lagos’ role as host of the inaugural GPS Dialogue.
“We are grateful for the Governor’s commitment to fostering a conducive business environment and promoting initiatives that drive economic growth,” she said.
The Dialogue also featured the announcement of the Lagos-Igbo Consultative Council, a new platform to strengthen consultation, collaboration, and coordination between the Lagos State Government and the Igbo business community.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite urged business leaders to see themselves as “nation-builders and partners in progress” working with government to deliver shared prosperity.
“Let us work hand in hand with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver the shared prosperity we all desire,” she added.
With the launch of the GPS Dialogue Series, the Federal Government signaled its readiness to build stronger bridges between policy and practice, unlocking new opportunities for inclusive, private sector-led growth across Nigeria
