Queen Lilian: Prince Adewole Adebayo Is Nigeria’s Best Choice for 2027

The wife of the 2023 Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Queen Lilian Adebayo, has reaffirmed that her husband, Prince Adewole Adebayo, remains the most credible and capable option for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking in Abuja shortly after receiving an Award of Excellence from the Forum of SDP State Chairmen, Queen Lilian praised her husband’s unwavering loyalty to the SDP. She said his consistency in upholding the party’s values sets him apart from political figures who switch parties for personal gain.
“Prince Adewole Adebayo has been a member of the SDP since he was 19. He had opportunities to join other parties like the PDP and APC, but he never did. He stayed committed to the SDP, and by the grace of God, he’s not leaving for any other party,” she said.
Describing her husband as a young, vibrant, and honest leader, Queen Lilian said he has the vision and competence to rebuild Nigeria’s failing systems and restore public trust in governance.
“If Nigerians are honest with themselves, my husband has a great chance. We’ve had presidents come and go without any real change. Nigerians need to stop voting for the same kind of people and expecting a different result,” she said.
Highlighting the need for courage and discernment among voters in 2027, she added:
“Prince Adebayo is capable, active, and young. He can move this country to greater heights if Nigerians vote for the person they truly know can deliver.”
On whether her husband could defeat a sitting president, she emphasized that the outcome depends on voters’ honesty and courage:
“That’s why Nigerians need to be truthful with themselves. What have they benefited so far from the current administration? People are still suffering. If Nigerians are sincere, they know exactly what to do.”
Commenting on recent crises within the SDP, Queen Lilian expressed confidence that the party has overcome its internal challenges.
“Every party has its share of crises. The SDP has handled its issues maturely. All conflicts have been resolved, peace has returned, and the party will emerge stronger,” she assured.
She also weighed in on women’s representation in politics, advocating for more seats for women in the National Assembly, saying:
“Women bring compassion, fairness, and emotional balance to leadership. If we want balanced leadership, more women should be given opportunities.”
Rejecting the notion that women do not support each other, she added:
“Women do support women. I was happy to see the only female state chairman at the meeting, and I gave her a hug. If she decides to contest, I’ll support her because she shares my values.”
Reflecting on the award she received, Queen Lilian described it as a reminder of unity and strength within the SDP family, while reaffirming her husband’s dedication to the party and Nigeria.
“This award means a lot. It shows that loyalty, dedication, and integrity are recognized. Prince Adebayo will continue to stand by the SDP and by Nigeria,” she said.
