Senate President Godswill Akpabio says more governors from opposition parties are preparing to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms.

Speaking in Owerri on Tuesday at the launch of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s book, “Ten Years of Impactful Leadership of the APC Administration in Nigeria”, Akpabio declared that the president’s performance is already winning over skeptics.

“Mr. President, with what you have done in the last two years, get ready to receive more governors from the opposition. As I speak, several are already preparing to join you,” he said.

The Senate President argued that Nigerians from different walks of life — students, farmers, and business owners — are already acknowledging the effects of Tinubu’s policies, despite criticism of the APC-led National Assembly as a “rubber stamp.”

Akpabio also commended Uzodimma for chronicling a decade of APC rule in his new book, describing it as an important historical record and a showcase of the party’s achievements.

He lauded ongoing projects in Imo State and reiterated that the APC’s “progressiveness is not in words but in action.”
