A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, Dr. Halima Sulaiman Zakari, has expressed confidence that the party will record a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections, crediting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi.
Speaking with reporters at the Federal Government College, Kiyawa, shortly after commissioning newly built and renovated hostel blocks, Dr. Zakari said the APC is poised to retain power both at the national and state levels with a “wide margin” over the opposition.

“As far as I’m concerned, APC is doing very well in Jigawa and across Nigeria. The foresight, boldness and experience of President Tinubu in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda are clearly visible,” she said.
She praised Governor Namadi’s commitment to his 12-point agenda, describing it as people-centered and impactful across every sector of life.
“Wherever you go, you can see their work and dedication to the people. Their performance has made it clear that they are true servants of the people. I believe 2027 will be an easy ride because they are delivering on their mandate,” she added.
Beyond politics, Dr. Zakari, a philanthropist with notable interventions in Jigawa South-West, also highlighted her recent contributions to education. She disclosed that after visiting her alma mater, the Federal Government College, Kiyawa, in May 2025 and finding it in poor condition, she decided to intervene.
“I believe there is nothing wrong with giving back to humanity and to the community that shaped who I am today,” she said, noting that she constructed a new hostel block and renovated others at a personal cost of over ₦120 million.
