Abbas Backs Tinubu’s Agenda, Promises End to Insecurity, Stronger Economy

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, working closely with the 10th National Assembly, is on course to defeat insecurity and drive economic prosperity for Nigeria.

Abbas, speaking at “An Evening with 004” — an Independence anniversary youth engagement organised by the APC Youth Wing in Abuja — described Tinubu as his foremost mentor, hailing his ability to sustain relationships and political networks for over 40 years.

The Speaker, who was honoured as Legislator of the Year (National Category) at the event, said the government’s mix of kinetic and non-kinetic measures is already yielding results, citing recent security improvements in Kaduna State.

“Within the next two to four years, insecurity will no longer dominate our national conversation. The government is determined to do whatever it takes to make crimes unattractive and create a safe environment for our people,” Abbas assured.

On the economy, Abbas admitted Nigeria’s budgets remain inadequate but said Tinubu’s ongoing tax reforms will drastically raise revenue and expand fiscal capacity.

“With the new reforms, I believe Nigeria’s budget could grow fivefold within a few years. That is when we can fully fund key sectors like education and health to global standards,” he said.

He urged Nigerian youths to embrace honesty and transparency, describing them as keys to trust and long-term success. His wife, Hajia Fatima Abbas, who attended with their children, praised the Speaker as “an extraordinary man, very kind and very honest.”

APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel said the award to Abbas recognised his “visionary stewardship and outstanding legislative impact.” The 109 APC senatorial youth leaders also presented him with a sculpted bust in his honour.
