Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has described the death of former Deputy Governor and ex-Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Solomon Ewuga, as a monumental loss to Nasarawa and Nigeria as a whole. Ewuga, a political stalwart and respected administrator, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 70.

In a statement personally signed by the governor and made available to journalists on Wednesday, Sule said the news of Ewuga’s passing was deeply painful, not only to his immediate family and the Eggon ethnic nationality but to the entire state.

“Our state has lost a consummate grassroots politician, an astute administrator, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the service of Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large,” the governor said. “In his dealings as Deputy Governor, Minister, and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the late Ewuga exemplified commitment, humility, and uncommon courage in leadership.”

Governor Sule extended his condolences to Ewuga’s family, the Eggon Traditional Council, political associates, and the people of Nasarawa State, praising the late senator’s role in peace-building, political development, and youth mentorship.

Ewuga, who represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 7th National Assembly, was widely regarded for his ability to build bridges across political and ethnic divides. His death has drawn an outpouring of tributes from leaders and citizens across Nigeria.

Governor Sule prayed for Ewuga’s soul to rest in peace and for strength for his family and community to bear the loss.
