Moved by disturbing scenes of pupils sitting on bare floors and learning in tears, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the supply of 15,716 chairs and desks to primary schools across the state.
Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr. Kassim Muhammad-Kassim, revealed this during a press briefing in Lafia on Tuesday, noting that the decision followed his unscheduled visits to schools, which exposed the dire conditions in classrooms.

“In some classes, pupils sit on broken furniture, bare floors, or stand by the walls,” he said. “But thanks to the Governor’s swift response, we’ll start distributing the new chairs within a month.”
Dr. Kassim praised Governor Sule’s commitment to revamping basic education, pledging to stay on the field and drive reforms that will restore dignity and functionality to public schools in the state.
