A new era of indigenous participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector is set to take center stage as top government officials, regulators, and private sector leaders converge in Lagos for the maiden Indigenous Oil and Gas Investors Summit scheduled for July 23–24, 2025.
The high-level event, which will be held at Bickley Park Hotels Waterfront in Lekki, is themed “Local Vision, Global Impact: The Future of Oil and Gas Investment in Nigeria” and is designed to spotlight the growing importance of local players in shaping the country’s energy future.

Organised by Red Carpet Protocol, the summit will focus on empowering Nigerian investors and operators across the oil and gas value chain, while also fostering direct engagement with policymakers and regulatory authorities.

According to Winifred Odunze, Summit Coordinator, the event will “bridge critical gaps in policy understanding, promote indigenous innovation, and align local industry ambitions with international best practices to ensure Nigeria remains a key player on the global energy map.”
Confirmed dignitaries include, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Rt. Hon. Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, CEO, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Engr. Farouk Ahmed, CEO, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA)
Executives from major oil and gas firms such as Dangote Refinery, Seplat, NNPC, Oando, Nestoil, and Lee Engineering are also expected to participate.
The summit will provide a platform to showcase indigenous success stories, uncover fresh investment opportunities, and push forward a coordinated response to the global shift toward clean and sustainable energy.
Organisers say the goal is to foster local ingenuity and ownership, drive policy clarity, and position Nigeria’s energy sector for long-term resilience and inclusive growth.
