The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the performance data for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), revealing that a significant majority of candidates scored below 200.
Out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for the exam nationwide, more than 1.5 million failed to reach the 200 mark.
The Board also disclosed that 4,756 candidates scored above 320, while 7,658 scored between 300 and 319.
In a related development, JAMB revealed that 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to sit for the exam under a special provision for gifted students. However, only 467 (1.16%) met the benchmark for exceptional ability, with further assessment stages still ahead.
