Bridging the Gap: APC Reconciliation Committee Embarks on Healing Tour Across FCT

In a renewed effort to rebuild trust and reconnect with the grassroots, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is set to launch a reconciliatory tour across the six Area Councils, promising to listen, learn, and lead with renewed purpose.
The initiative, championed by the APC’s Unity and Reconciliation Committee (URC), was unveiled during a strategic meeting with the Minister of State for the FCT, Hajiya Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure. The committee, led by Senator Usman Jibril Wowo, is composed of seasoned party members and political influencers who have pledged to restore unity where division has crept in.
“This is not just about the party—it’s about the people,” Senator Wowo emphasized. “We want to meet them where they are, hear what’s broken, and fix it together.”
The upcoming tour will see committee members engage directly with stakeholders, ward leaders, and ordinary party members who have felt sidelined or unheard. From issues of inclusion to concerns over internal democracy, the goal is to give every voice a seat at the table.
Minister Bunkure welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and necessary. “This is the politics of healing,” she said. “Politics must be personal—it must feel like home to our people again.”
The APC’s leadership in the FCT acknowledges that beyond infrastructure and policy wins, it is the emotional connection with the grassroots that ultimately fuels electoral strength.
Senator Wowo added that while party strategy often focuses on polling units and power blocs, it’s the stories and sentiments of everyday members that shape outcomes. “A party disconnected from its people cannot lead them,” he said.
With Area Council elections looming, this reconciliation mission is viewed by many as a test of the APC’s ability to evolve—away from factional politics and toward a more inclusive, people-driven movement.
“We are not going with answers,” Wowo concluded. “We are going with ears. And if we listen well, the people will lead us back to victory.”
