As Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo extends his warm congratulations to former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris on his 76th birthday, he takes a moment to reflect on the lasting impact of Idris’ leadership, which continues to shape the political, social, and infrastructural landscape of the state.

Governor Ododo’s message highlights the profound influence of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing him as not just a political figure, but a visionary leader whose service has left an indelible mark on Kogi.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’ tenure was defined by wisdom, humility, and a commitment to inclusive governance. His leadership went beyond just the development of infrastructure—it was about uniting diverse communities, nurturing future leaders, and creating a foundation for sustainable progress,” Governor Ododo stated.
These were contained in a statenment by the special adviser to the Governor on media Ismaila Isah
In praising Idris’ calm demeanor and steadfast belief in unity, Governor Ododo underscored the importance of a leader who fosters peace and collaboration in times of both growth and adversity. “In a world where division often takes center stage, his ability to bring people together, especially during times of tension, speaks volumes about the caliber of his leadership,” he remarked.

Governor Ododo also acknowledged the invaluable mentorship and advice Idris continues to offer, calling it an ongoing testament to his dedication to Kogi’s future. “His wise counsel remains a guiding light for all of us in leadership today,” Governor Ododo added.

In celebrating Idris’ milestone, Governor Ododo’s words prompt a deeper reflection on the qualities of leadership that truly leave a legacy: wisdom, inclusivity, unity, and service.
In a time when leadership can be easily reduced to political maneuvering, Ibrahim Idris stands as a reminder of the power of leadership rooted in humanity and the collective good.

Governor Ododo concluded with heartfelt prayers for Idris’ continued good health, longevity, and fulfillment in all his future endeavors, both personal and in service to the nation.
