    Kogi Police Command inaugurates National Police Day celebration

    Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police has inaugurated the National Police Day, 2025 celebration with a week-long activities to appreciate courage and commitment of Police officers in service to humanity.

    The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lokoja, said the event is scheduled to commence from 2nd to 7th April, 2025.

    According to him, the event is organised in line with the Presidential directive to introduce a National Police Day aimed at appreciating our courageous Police Officers for their unwavering commitment and service to humanity.

    He further said the event aimed to “commemorate our heroes. The day is set aside to give formal recognition to Police Officers who have given their all to protect others and make their communities safer places to live and work.”

    The event, according to the PPRO, will further enhance Police-community partnership for a better and safer Kogi State.

    “The Command seeks to strengthen collaboration with critical stakeholders in the communities for effective implementation of Community Policing which will enhance security of lives and property in the State.

    Aya said that activities highlighted for the event include Sports, Stakeholders Engagement Meeting, School Outreach programmes, Campaign Against Cultism and Social Vices, Sanitation and Cleanup, Walkathon and free Medical Services.

    “The Command is hereby inviting the public to participate in the activities and sharpen our Policing approach for a better and secured Kogi State.

    “These week is all about recognising the pivotal contributions of Police Officers and increasing understanding of their work across the Federation”, the SP Aya added. (Ends)
