As part of its humanitarian efforts to support the less privileged during the holy month of Ramadan, the Dangote Foundation has distributed 1,500 bags of rice* to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and other vulnerable groups in Rano Local Government Area, Kano State.
Flagging off the distribution, the Chairman of Rano Local Government, Malam Muhammad Naziru Yau, commended the Dangote Foundation for its timely intervention. He emphasized that the initiative would provide much-needed relief to struggling families during this sacred period and called on other wealthy individuals to emulate the gesture.
Also speaking at the event, Kano State Hisbah Commandant, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, represented by Mukhtar Usman Maidu, praised the transparency and fairness of the distribution process. He described the foundation’s intervention as a significant effort to ease the economic burden on vulnerable communities.
The Secretary of the Distribution Committee and Hisbah Commandant of Rano L.G., Malam Musbahu Dahiru Rurum, outlined the categories of beneficiaries, including persons with special needs, orphans, the less privileged, Islamic scholars (Ulamas), traditional rulers, and civil servants. He reassured the public that the committee carried out its duties diligently under the directives of the *Hisbah Commandant and the *Kano State Ministry of Agriculture.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dauda Abdulkareem Joki expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Dangote Foundation, stating that the donation would go a long way in easing the hardship faced by many families during Ramadan.
The initiative reflects the Dangote Foundation’s continued commitment to providing relief to vulnerable communities, especially during times of economic difficulty.
